Karate is an old Japanese art, which has many aspects to it. Some students love kumite (fighting) and competing while others love more the artistic part of it, more like Katas (forms), where they express and perfect their art through technique movements, and others just love the sense family and friendship! Karate allows students to discover where their passion is and we embrace it.

Yes, you can. However, make sure it is a traditional Karate uniform all white and no logos. It must be crossed, NO V neck jacket. Amazon has good prices. Keep in mind that every brand measures their sizes differently. Follow the manufactory sizes recommendations.

We see belts as a reflection of our work. Promotions in DBK are earned by meeting requirements of the rank. We evaluate students regular class performance to get invited to test. These are some of qualifications want to see on a student:
1. Respect
2. Discipline (uniform clean, nails clean, on time, attendance, etc)
3. Class attitude and effort
4. Team work
5. Taking care of others
6. Behavior appropriate to age and rank
7. Knowledge and technical level of rank
Not everyone gets promoted at the same speed. We all are different and evolve differently. We do not use the belts to keep kids motivated but as an earned achievement.
